The You-Stole-My-Crocs Message

I found this message when I was visiting IIUM last two weeks, I think. A brother, name Zakuan Azizi (I don't know him, btw) left a note on a side of crocs as in the picture below. Click the picture to enhuge.

Hahaha! If I were him, I just take the Crocs and runaway already (if I 100% sure that are my Crocs la of course..). BTW, I wonder what will happen to the pencuri selipar? Habes la kena ceramah ngan si Zakuan nih. (^.^'')

P/s - A pair of Crocs was stolen at IIUM during the month of Ramadhan. Hmmm, so irony.

1 kg = ? pound

Lately, I love to watch "The Biggest Loser" at Hallmark Channel (702). Although it is the repeat one, I still enjoy watching it.

The weight loss in this series is measured in pound (lb). But in our country, we already familiarized ourselves with the SI system, which use kilogram (kg). Do you guys know how many pounds equal to one kg? Here:

1 kilogram = 2.20462262 pounds

That one I found from Google. It is the same when I calculate it again with my calculator. So, after this, whenever you watch "The Biggest Loser", u may calculate how many kg that the contestant lose during that particular week.

P/s - Really impressed with a contestant who lost 26 pounds in one week which equal to 11.8kg (26/2.205). Giler ar!

Exhausted... Not Exausted

Thanks Wee for the correction. I just noticed it. Hehe!

By the way, I screwed up my blog. I tried to use a new template and then, all the bloglist went missing. Nasib baik other widgets can be recovered. Hmm, malas giler nak copy and pasted balik link2...

P/s - After 2 months without ant posting, this is only the thing that I can write? Hahaha!

Exausted and In Dilemma...

I'm back! I will be at home for this weekend since there will be no GEMS activities at Darul Puteri. I went out from there, together with Amir at 5.20pm. Waited for bus for about 15 minutes and then catched a train to Plaza Rakyat. After Amir bought his balik-kampung tiket to Batu Pahat, we went to Mydin Pudu to buy some items. Actually, I wanted to buy so many things like another long sleeve shirt, a three-quatre pants, some shirts... But then, I ended up bought only a tie and two packest of sweets. Hahahaha! X jadi beli yg lain. Budget lari.

Then, Amir went back to hentian Pudu to wait for his 7.00pm-bus. I walked to other way, to the bustop where Metrobus no.26 is available. At that time, it was almost 7.00pm, I think. Then, I arrived at home one hour later. Hampeh sungguh~ A lot of traffic jams during that time plus, the driver mmg jalan makan angin jer bawak bas. So slow. Ok, done about the exhausted part.

Entering the dilemma part. Hmmm, I just got an email from BiotechCorp today, saying that I was selected to join the BeST programme (about time~). Some of my friends that also got selected include Adelina, Adibah, Zarul, Fathi, Wani and Amir. But the thing is, I already joining the GEMS programme. Both has their own advantages and disadvantages. GEMS consist of 2 and a half month of classroom session followed by 6 months apprenticeship. During the classroom session, GEMS provide accomodation and food to its participants. BeST consist of 3 months classroom session and 3 months attachment program. However, although they will pay us RM1000, no accomodation and food will be provided. We hv to go to various training venues in that 3 months.

Whatever it is, to me, the main problem is not about the food and accomodation. I'm lucky since I live in KL and the area that I live at has a lot of access to the public transport. The problem is, argghhh, tak tau yg mana nak decide. Dah la. No idea already.

In conclusion, Solat Istiharah jer la. Ask for guidance from Allah.

Sarong?

Source - Greek - 122 - Spring Broke

I never know that sarong is an international word until I watched this series called Greek. Let see what is the western definition of sarong:

Type: Noun
  • A loose skirt consisting of brightly colored fabric wrapped around the body; worn by both women and men in the South Pacific
Of course the pronunciation is different. They pronounce it as su-rong. Hehe! Weird!

Lets compare between their sarong and ours

Their Sarong. Look expensive right?

Our Sarong. Cheap. Rm5 can get la.

Something About Dog

Source - House M.D. - 403 - 97 Seconds

Generally, I hate dog. But there are also some exceptions. I love to see (not to touch) a clean dog, walking at the street with its owner. The small one of course. Not the big, black dog. That one, aku memang akan geli sampai bila2 (how to write this sentence in English?). Hahaha!

I also like to watch trained dog in action. For example, below are some captured images about a well-trained dog, taking care of its owner. Tengok la.

Amazing right! The dog looks very clean also.

My First Biotech-Related Job Interview.

Hahaha! It is already past two weeks since the job interview, but don't care, I still want to write about it.

Before I write about the interview, I want to tell you guys about my preparation for it. It was a bit kelam kabut. On the day before the interview, I just noticed that I don't have any plain and soft color long sleeved shirt. I searched my brother's wardrobe to see whether he has any but, nada! Hmmm, at the end of the dy, luckily I found this one shirt, white color with thin stripes. Boleh la. Asalkan soft color shirt.

Then, I have to msg Fiza (the I-know-all-about-fashion guy), to ask his opinion about what color of tie that I should match with the white+stripes shirt. He texted me back saying that I should wear the one with plain dark color. Alamak, mana ada yg plain dark punya. Then, I searched the house and I found this tie with red and small boxes pattern (curik adik aku punya). Hmm, then I tried to compare it with my other ties.

Boleh la. X plain pon xper la. X nampak pon that small boxes. No time to think about that. I still have to do some research about the company ( + facebooking a bit).

On the day of the interview, I printed out all the possible interview questions and also some info about the company. Then, suit up! Ready to go to the interview, which located at Phileo Damansara, PJ. Look at the pics below. Hensemkan aku? Hahahaha!

To go to Phileo Damansara, I had to take a bus, then LRT to Asia Jaya and a transit bus to the bustop nearest to the interview place. Then, my sister fetched me to the building. It is actually located nearby to Matric UIA PJ (xder la dekat sgt pon..).

Upon arriving, I did some last minute preparation for the interview. I checked my CV and then, try to memorize about the company details. Mcm nak exam daa...

FYI, Izzah had already went for the interview. While waiting for my sister to fetched me before, I actually called her to ask for some tips. She told me that the interviewer will ask about this and that and that bla.. bla..bla... Thanks Izzah!

Hmm, about the interview session, I think it went okay. Not too bad and not too good I think.

I managed to answer most of the questions, with some details of course. However, at some point, I think I did some major mistakes. The interviewer asked me to tell him about myself. I was supposed to introduce and try to promote myself to him. Commonly, for this type of question, it should be about five minutes or more but what I did was less than two minutes. Screeww me!

Another mistakes was that I told him about my weaknesses more than about my strength! Giler aper. At that time, I just want to be honest, tapi terlebih2 pulak. Adoi la~ I even told him that I am a kelam kabut punya person. Mana ada company yg nak ambik org yg kelam kabut. Bengong sungguh aku. Hahaha!

Last but not least, the interviewer asked me whether I am a JPA-scholar student or not. I told him that I am. Then he asked about the agreement la, ape la, kena kejer ngan government la.. I told him that for local sponsorship, it is not necessarily for us to work with the government but I dont't think I convinced him at that time. Hmm, hancur berkecai la nak kejer kat company tuh. Muka pasrah.

Now is already two weeks after the interview. I never recieved any call for the second interview. Dah paham la tuh. Hmm, xper la. Xder rezeki.

Nevermind, I still got another shot next week. I will be having an interview at this one popular biotech-related company. Wish me luck yer!

How To Capture Scenes From TV Series With GOM Player

Since Mdm Dilla asked me to teach her how to capture scenes from tv series, I think it is better for me to do the tutorial instead of explaining just with words. Hehe! No worries. It's easy!

STEP 1

You need to download the GOM player of course. GOM player is a free software. You can download it here (credit to download.com). It is a very good multimedia player. I even set it as my default player for my computer. After downloaded it, install and try to run it.

STEP 2

After you run the player, right click, go to Video> Advance Screen Capture.

STEP 3

A new window will pop out. In this window, you can see the setting for the output (the scenes that you already captured) and also other option for 'capture'. Change the directory according to your preference. In my opinion, it is always easier to just set the output file to the 'desktop'. It will be easier for you to find the file there.

STEP 4

The setting is actually already complete. You can just hit the 'CTRL + E' button to any scene that you want to capture. The output will be at the directory that you set for the previous step.

STEP 5

There is also another option instead of hitting the 'CTRL' and 'E' button simultaneously.

What you can do is that, right click on the player. Go to Preference>Keyboard>Add. Another window will pop out. At the 'Command', search for 'CAPTURE_Save Current Screen'. Then, add a short key.

There are 5 short keys available, SPACE, ENTER, BACKSPACE, ESC and TAB. In my opinion, it is better to choose either BACKSPACE or TAB because the ENTER button already been set to enlarge the screen of the window, the SPACE button is use to pause and play the media and ESC is use to close the player. Personally, I choosed BACKSPACE for my 'Capture' button.

Ok, that's all. Do not forget to try ya!

Additional info - How To Capture the Current Screen With Subtitle?

STEP 1

Firstly of course you need to download the subtitle first. There are a lot of subtitle's websites on the net and after exploring most of the subtitle's websites, I think that tvsubtitles.net has the complete database of subtitles ever.

STEP 2

After you downloaded the sub, try to open it with a notepad. You will see all the script in the notepad.

STEP 3

Next, rename your subtitle's file with the same name with your media file (becareful not to change the extension of the subtiles. The default extension is '.srt').

STEP 4

Then, play your media file with GOM Player. Walla! The subtitles is embeded with your media file. If you want to be more advance, you can change the setting for the subtitle. Simply right click on the player, go to Preferences>Subtitles. There you can actually change the font or the color of the subtitles.

Ok, I think that's all for now. Again, don't hesitate to try ya. Ta! TTFN!

Tips from Madam Dilla~

"I used to talk to myself as in practicing alone before I went for an interview. Some people do it in front of a mirror. I just simply talking aloud to myself pretending I'm answering all sorts of questions asked by the interviewer. Do it at home not in public. People might think you are nuts. hehehe.."

Polishing My English

I've been resting at home for almost one month doing nothing. Not exactly doing nothing la, I still applying for jobs through the net, meeting my friends once a week and also, filling up my free time watching tv series that I downloaded. Hahaha! What a boring life right?

Suddenly, yesterday, I got a call from a company named 'Materialise Software' (about time for an interview. Hahaha!). The caller told me that I was selected to go for an interview this Thursday. I was blurred at that time because I don't remember when did I apply for a job from this company (it is actually through JobStreet. Silly me.). I just agreed that I will go to the interview, considering this is a chance for me to experience a real job interview session.

The most important thing to prepare myself for the interview is to polish my English. I don't think I have problem with my resume/CV (huh? Statement!). It has been almost one month since the last time I talked to anyone in English. I feel like I almost lose the confidence to speak in English with other people. Then, what I did was I search for all English books that I have from SPM to Uni level.

To me, the most important book that really helps me to improve my english communication is "Ujian Lisan Bahasa Inggeris 1119 SPM". Hahaha! It's true. The book really helps me to communicate with basic English sentence. I always practice by reading out loud all the examples availabe in that book. This is a tip from me (although I think that I am not the suitable one to give the tip since my English is just average): If you want to familiarize your speech in English, you have to read the word/sentence out loud.

After familiarized myself with the basic book, I proceed with the harder one. The book that I bought for my EOP class (Technical Communication) is also a good book. It has all the examples and also the interview questions that I have to perepare myself with. Tak menyesal beli.

K ar. Out of words. need to practice my English more. Tata!

P/s - What a boring post!

The idea of the Santa Claus~

Source - Grey's Anatomy - 523 - 524 - Here's to Future Days

Santa Claus never exist in this world. It is just a character which the Christian's adults lie to their children so that they believe the spirit of giving. Why did they have to do that? Hmm..
